How can we help you?

KEA Canada provides services in a variety of areas including resource development, capacity-building, strategic planning, board development, campaign planning and management, coaching, and services for families and organizations looking for advice in strategic philanthropy.

Support

  • Regular meetings by phone or in person to discuss strategic planning and activities around execution of fund raising plans and other projects as identified

  • Participating in strategy, planning, securing and staffing fundraising meetings with key volunteers or staff

  • Strategic planning, advice, and sounding board services for senior staff on topics of fundraising, operations, and policy development

  • Attending Board meetings, make presentations as appropriate

  • Reviewing of donor lists, proactive identification of new prospective donors

Coaching

  • Coaching for leadership and staff

  • Being a "thinking partner" for leaders. Leaders are often looking for someone with whom they can work things through. They can’t be totally open with the board they report to, or the staff they are accountable for. We can help by being a sounding board, brainstorming with them, and helping to identify possible solutions while providing advice and perspective

Execution

  • Executing approved plans for events and fundraising campaigns

  • Developing cases for support, grant-writing, and research

  • Conducting focus groups with stakeholders

  • Interviewing prospective donors as an external consultant to collect data, advice and input, and interest in major gift support

  • Training of board members and key volunteers in the fundraising process, role of the board and making the ask

Interim Leadership

  • Streamline your leadership transition process and support your organization through this transition

  • Work together with you to determine your team’s future leaders and leadership structure

  • As seasoned fund development professionals, we can provide support to ensure your fundraising plans move forward during transition

Resources

Imagine Canada

Imagine Canada's three broad goals are to strengthen the charitable sector’s collective voice, create opportunities to connect and learn from each other, and build the sector’s capacity to succeed. Their programs offer a number of ways to participate in shaping how Canadians support their communities through charity. The organization is the result of a union of two of Canada’s leading charitable umbrella organizations, the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy, and the Coalition of National Voluntary Organizations.

Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)  Canada

With approximately 3,500 members residing in Canada, AFP is dedicated to promoting and advancing the cause of its Canadian members. AFP supports Canadian members in 19 chapters, and provides leadership to Canada’s charitable sector.

Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP)

CAGP is a national association that inspires and educates the people involved in strategic charitable gift planning. They advocate for a beneficial tax and legislative environment that strengthens philanthropic giving, create a networking environment with like-minded professionals and experts, and provide access to learning opportunities and professional development.

Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)

The CRA administers tax laws for the Government of Canada and for most provinces and territories. It is the go-to for information about tax laws surrounding charitable giving. The CRA website provides a wealth of essential knowledge and services for charities and donors, including a charitable donation tax calculator, a searchable database of all Canadian charities, and links to publications and forms relevant to charities and donors.

Muttart Foundation

One of Canada's best-known charities, the Muttart Foundation’s charitable activities include policy research, public awareness research and analysis, consultations on the regulation of charities, seminars and workshops on key issues and concerns affecting charities as well as special projects. They provide a variety of granting, bursary and training programs focussed around strengthening the charitable sector, early childhood education and care, and staff and volunteer development.
